PENDANTS
Pendants are crafted from sterling silver, 14k, 18k, or 22k gold, bronze and 24k gold Keum-boo. Keum-boo is the process of fusing thin sheets of 24k gold to silver. Unless noted, pendants come with an 18” chain. Chains of any length by order.
Pendant #2-24kb
Sterling silver, 24k gold Keum-boo, freshwater pearl and a garnet adorn this kimono pendant. Decorated on both sides, the pendant has a large flat, bezel-set pearl on the back with Keum-boo surrounding it. Traditionally, kimonos are displayed with the back outward. I personally find the front and the opening more interesting. Many kimonos have different fabric on the inside and the contrast of the two patterns is more interesting to me. I took an artist’s liberty and designed this piece to be worn with the front facing out. I have nestled a freshwater pearl in the opening. Or, if you are a traditionalist, you can wear the kimono with the back facing out. Both sides are lovely. The kimono measures: 2” tall x 2” wide x 5/8” deep. It comes with a snake chain and a handmade clasp which reads “spirit”. $650.
